Quinnipiac Innovations in Learning and Teaching (QILT) serves all faculty across the institution by leading initiatives focused on teaching excellence, learning design, learning media, and learning technology. As a unit in the Office of the Provost, QILT’s goal is to offer faculty the tools, support, and professional development opportunities necessary to foster a culture of teaching excellence and innovation, thrive in their roles as educators, and maintain overall well-being in their careers.

To accomplish this, QILT:

  • Offers department, school, and institution-wide workshops, individual consultations, guides, resources, and other initiatives focused on new technologies, evidence-based pedagogies, curricular design, and topics in response to faculty interest and higher education trends.
  • Promotes and supports course design and delivery across all modalities with a full suite of learning design services, media production expertise, and knowledge of best practices in pedagogies.
  • Monitors, tests, and integrates new learning technologies, including the learning management system, that enable faculty innovation, student engagement, and overall success.
  • Provides welcoming spaces and opportunities for faculty to experiment, troubleshoot, ask questions, and build community with one another around teaching.
  • Blends in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous engagement opportunities and resources that both anticipate and respond to faculty questions and interests.
  • Supports grant-funded faculty development programs.
  • Meets faculty where they are, listening to their needs and concerns, and offers tailored support to help them get to where they want to be.

By centering faculty needs, QILT contributes to an environment in which every Quinnipiac student has an exceptional learning experience.
